Welcome!

Hello and welcome to the Book & Dinner Club! I'll post the Book of the Month on this blog, as well as the questions/topics from the back fo the book for us to discuss when we get together. If you're reading along but you're not in the area to come to meetings, you can post on this blog if you want :)  We can't forget about the food, either! If we want to be really adventurous we can have themed potlucks, like all Mexican or all Italian, etc. or even more fun might be to try to match the food to the book we're reading?! You can comment on the blog posting what you want to bring for food/drink that way we don't have a lot fo the same stuff and to see what looks good! Here's some info on the first book:

"Those Who Save Us" by Jenna Blum

For fifty years, Anna Schlemmer has refused to talk about her life in Germany during World War II. Anna's daughter Trudy was only four when she and Anna were liberated from Nazi Weimar by an American soldier and went with him to Minnesota, so Trudy can't remember much....but she has one piece of evidence from the past: a family portrait showing Trudy, Anna, and a Nazi officer, the Obersturmfuhrer of Buchenwald.
Driven by the guilt of her heritage, Trudy, now a professor of German history, begins investigating the past and finally unearths the dramatic and heartbreaking truth of her mother's life.
Combining a story of passionate but doomed love, a vivid evocation of life during the war, and a poignant mother-daughter drama.

Happy Reading!
